Challenging day at the Grand Prix of Aragon

This Saturday the qualifying sessions for the Aragon Grand Prix were held. Tom Lüthi will start from the sixth row after qualifying for Q2.

Tom Lüthi started the third free practice ready to achieve his direct pass to Q2. The Swiss rider was very close to achieve it and, although he had to go through Q1, he took part of the Q2. Lüthi gave his best from the start and tomorrow he will start from sixteenth position on the grid.

Tom Lüthi (P16 | 1’52.879):

“Quite a good day today. We could improve after a difficult FP3 and we didn’t have the chance to go straight into the Q2 so we had to go through Q1. Then, after getting the fourth place I could make into Q2 and this is a very motivational situation. Later, in the Q2 I did not manage well the position where I was. The timing was not correct, when I went out of the pit I was absolutely alone. I was trying to go behind Fernández to have a little slipstream wheel that I could follow but he was already too far away so I was a little far when I went out of the pit and behind me was a bit gap.  I tried to do a lap but I made a mistake and I tried to save the tyre a little bit and after I could push for another lap but unfortunately I was not fast enough. P16 but I think if we can a step forward on the pace, we can make a good race tomorrow”.
