BarcelonaGP: Awesome qualifying takes Tom Lüthi into front raw

After Le Mans and Mugello Tom Lüthi stormed into the second grid position for the third time in a row.

Both Dynavolt Intact GP riders were able to improve their feelings and to step up under hot temperatures on Saturday.
For Tom Lüthi, who was the fastest Moto2 rider at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on opening day, this meant that he was able to push every lap of qualifying at a very high level. With his time of 1’44.191 the Swiss was missing just a tiny bit of 21 thousands of a second to pole position, that eventually was secured by Augusto Fernandez. For the third time in a row the championship-third will start into Sunday’s race from second position on the grid.

Tom Lüthi P2 - 1'44.191 (+0.021)
«I'm very happy because I didn't expect it today. Yesterday was good, I was fastest, but I still had problems and had to take a lot of risks. The team did a fantastic job. The conditions today changed compared to yesterday. It was hotter than the first day, but we were able to adapt well. I think it was a really strong qualifying. I had a very good feeling with the bike and I'm happy that we're on the front row. Of course, the race is another story. But we have a really good starting position. Now we have to analyse all the data from today. Some of the guys are going pretty fast, so it will be crucial what the conditions for tomorrow's race will be like and how hot it will be. It will be a long and exhausting race, but after qualifying I can say that we are well prepared for tomorrow.»
